US medical worker exposed to Ebola overseas heads to Omaha
Omaha Nebraska, an American health care provider who badly experienced high-risk exposure to the dangerous Ebola virus while working in Sierra Leone will be treated at the facility's bio-containment unit in Omaha, Nebraska medical administration say.
Nebraska Medicine says in a report that the mysterious patient will arrive Sunday about 2 pm CST on board a private air ambulance.
The patient is not sick and is not contagious says Phil Smith, M.D., medical director of the facility's bio-containment unit. He says, “officials will obtain all appropriate safety measures."
The patient will be checked up for possible infection during the twenty one day incubation period of the disease, both by scanning for symptoms and through blood samples.
Three patients affected with Ebola have been cure at Nebraska Medicine, which is a medical partner of the “University of Nebraska Medical Center”.
